The Chorus
(Les Choristes)

This film is empty, soulless, transparent, by-the-numbers,
thoroughly uninteresting,* obvious claptrap that tries to emulate standard
American formula films and succeeds way too well. That so many people are
enthralled by this tedious drivel is both perplexing and frightening. But
again, that's just my opinion.
Also, this actually wasn't released in the U.S. until 2005, but since it's up for an Academy Award because France shamefully submitted it as the film to represent their country, I wanted to get it out of the way now so I don't have to think about it again next year.
*(except for the music sequences, which are wonderful out of context, even if they are ridiculous in context)
